Laptop running slowly
If your laptop is slow, freezing, or taking a long time to start, try the steps below.

Quick fix
- Restart the laptop properly.
- Close unused applications and browser tabs.
- Check that the laptop has enough battery or is plugged in.
- Wait for Windows updates to complete if they are running.
- Try again after restarting.
Raise a ticket if
- The laptop takes more than 10 minutes to start.
- It freezes repeatedly.
- You see disk, memory, or update errors.
- The issue affects teaching or learning.
Tip: When raising a ticket, include your school, room/location, device name and a screenshot of any error message.
